The idea of living spaces in the future raises fascinating reflections on our evolving needs. Community spaces are generating a need for private spaces. It is on this path that microarchitectures are revealing themselves as sustainable, modular, economically viable and energy efficient solutions in all types of spaces. Understanding the new modular solutions on the market, from acoustic cabins to prefabricated houses, is part of the common thread of this conference in which designers and industrialists, as well as experts in neuroarchitecture, participate.
Well-being is a strong and central issue in this type of architecture. Now, we are not only putting the user at the centre, but also sustainable and modular construction. Reducing constructions in order to be able to make sustainable architectures that are committed to the planet, that have several uses. This is where microarchitecture generates new opportunities: from housing as annexes to cabins that are offices. Assemblable spaces that allow the space to be remodelled and not blocked by assembling and disassembling spaces. Modular architecture is not a luxury, it is an obligation of the planet that has all the key issues to facilitate the well-being and comfort of people. And it is already a design trend for the coming years.
The round table is part of ‘Design meets Industry’, a series of meetings and debates where office and contract furniture manufacturer Actiu reflects on the intersection of avant-garde design and industrial innovation. Architects and designers bring their artistic vision and meticulous attention to detail, while sustainable industry adds its technical expertise and innovation. Together, they create unique pieces that provide solutions to society’s needs. They are committed to caring for people with more flexible, dynamic, modular and reconfigurable spaces, based on objective studies and disciplines such as neuroarchitecture.
